Sweet times at Lake Sunapee

I decided that today we would do something fun--no planning, no big ordeal, spontaneous and simple! Friends, Jan and Kayla (a.k.a. KayKay) joined us at Lake Sunapee and it was great. Beautiful weather, good friends, warm water (yes, Lake Sunapee was actually warm!) Spontaneous is fun!

Slip-Sliding Away!

After a very long New England winter with lots and lots of snow, we have had a delightful spring. Today summer showed up, at about 11 a.m. The temperature went from 70s to 90s very quickly. My three youngest were fading fast at the alumni parade this morning. We all really miss the pool at our old house. So, while they were napping, I went grocery shopping and picked up a Slip 'n Slide. Oh what happy campers! They enjoyed their new slippery runway very much, but the allure of the river kept calling to the oldest, including Dad, so that is where we ended up. Much to everyone's delight, Dad fell in! Dad doesn't fall in on purpose like the boys do!! They had to help our labradoodle with her lab instincts, again!! Dad picked her up and put her in the deep part. Away she swam, much offended! I am glad he doesn't teach the children to swim that way!! After a brief break for homemade pizza, they are back out slip-sliding away! No baths tonight!!
