Happy Memorial Day

Memorial Day weekend is usually pretty busy for us. We have made a tradition of visiting the graves of our deceased family and friends, and since the different cemeteries are quite spread out, it usually takes a while. We feel it is important to instill in our children, honor and respect for those who died for our country, and, as Catholics, it is a tangible way to enter into the truth of the Communion of Saints. We share memories of our deceased loved ones as we offer prayers for their quick entry into heaven. In these moments, the Church Triumphant, the Church Suffering and the Church Militant unite in love and prayer.

The kids' favorite part of the weekend in the Memorial Day parade. It is usually small, but they still enjoy it, especially the candy!! Here are some pix:

Awww..big brother sharing his candy with lil sis.

Thank you to all those brave Americans who gave their lives for this country.
Your sacrifice is not forgotten.
Happy Memorial Day!
