Hello!

I will attempt a quick introduction to my family. My name is Lisa Sweet. I have been married for 21 years to my wonderful husband, Scott, who is a great blessing and support to me. We have five children here and two more waiting (and praying for us!) in heaven. We are devout, practicing, praying Roman Catholics. We have discerned God's call to homeschooling and have educated our children at home since 1994 (with a couple of short-lived forays into the 'traditional' school world mixed in).

Our oldest daughter, Alexandra, or Lexi, as she prefers just finished her freshman year at Franciscan University of Steubenville, Ohio. Oh how I love that place!! Lexi did better than I could have hoped, becoming involved in several theatrical productions, choirs, social events and even finishing the spring semester with a 3.68 GPA! Her major is drama, with minors in music and theology....as a friend exclaimed, "(Lexi's) soul sprang from one of John Paul II's prayers!" --referring to the drama/theology combination. She has blossomed so beautifully at Franciscan...God is good!

Next down the line is Isaac, 15 1/2. Isaac is currently practicing driving in anticipation of obtaining that treasure known as a driver's license. He is already a decent driver....needs to use the brake more, though! Isaac is an all around athlete, enjoying soccer, baseball, and snowboarding best. Although he is homeschooled, he played on the local high school's varsity soccer and baseball teams. He is an experienced altar server and the sight of him in his robes is one this mom cherishes. As my little boy disappears, a sweet young man takes his place....bittersweet.

Ethan, 9, is "coming into himself"; developing his own distinct sense of humor, a love of sports and joy in becoming competent in the new ones he tries. It is fun to watch him develop before my very eyes. Ethan loves soccer best, but is also good at baseball, basketball and skiing. He is a quick learner and an attentive babysitter for his little sister. He has, unfortunately, inherited his dad's sense of humor---really bad knock knock jokes!! Ethan's 'blueberry eyes', as sister, Lexi, has dubbed them, sparkle with fun and sometimes, mischief!

Samuel, 6, is a lovable teddy bear. He loves to give "big bear hugs" and kisses and snuggles on the couch. Sammy is quite busy and it is in mom's best interest to make sure Sam has something to do--a bored Sammy can become a destructive Sammy! He loves music and drawing and is quite creative. He also loves dressing his little sister up as a princess. Sammy plays soccer and tball and basketball and recently learned how to ride a two-wheeler!!

Annemarie, (almost) 3, is, despite our best efforts to prevent it, a little princess. She attracts attention wherever she goes. Her platinum blonde hair, Cindy Lou Who voice, and oh so charming smile combine to make her irresistible to all but the hardest of hearts. She missed her big sister when Lexi was at college, so whenever Lexi came home, Annemarie had to sleep in Lexi's bed--at least the first night--or two....Annie loves her family and gives us lots of love. Having 3 older brothers, though, has taught her that she must stand up for herself , which she does quite well....and loudly....She can go from ladylike to loudmouth in 1.2 seconds....oh dear....

As you can see, God has blessed us abundantly...our greatest blessings being our shared faith, the gift of Our Lord, body, blood, soul and divinity in the Eucharist, the love and protection of His Blessed Mother, and the guidance and truth contained in the One True Church. Thank you Jesus.
